Today marks a profound day in American and world history.  Osama bin Laden was killed last night in a firefight, led by U.S. Navy Seals, in his home in Abbottabad, Pakistan.  Americans celebrated gleefully all throughout the night, raising flags and shouting anthems, and all for good reason.  Bin Laden’s decade-long manhunt which followed the tragic events on 9/11 that cost thousands of lives finally ended, giving feelings of relief and vindication for so many.  I am thankful for this American victory today.  But I am also prayerful for America and all those potentially subject to Islamic extremists seeking revenge.  The war on terror is definitely not over.  Nevertheless, I am proud of our troops and thankful for their courage and sacrifice.  Today, an evil man, who caused so much pain, through destruction and fear, is gone.
