Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1:21 that it is by the “foolishness of preaching” that saves them that believe.  I find it interesting that God uses the “foolishness of preaching.”  I find it even more interesting that He does not use the “preaching of foolishness.”

There is a difference.

The “mystery of the Gospel,” as Paul put it, is revealed, not by spiritual goofiness, nor by doctrinal hand-me-downs, but through the simplicity of “the preaching of Jesus Christ.” (Rom. 16:25)

Salvation is ridiculously simple.  It is Jesus Christ alone and in him crucified. (1 Cor. 1:23)

1 Cor. 1:21 – For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
