I’m currently reading, John Tesh: Intelligence for Your Life. The book bears numerous and powerful life lessons and great nuggets of truth for personal growth. Definitely would recommend. Here’s one excerpt that really struck a chord with me:
Big Life Question: Do I know what my passions are?
If your answer to this Big Life Question is “No,” or “I’m not sure,” then ask yourself four more questions:
- What makes me feel most energized and excited?
- What do I want to be known as?
- What could I talk about nonstop?
- Which activities do I get so caught up in that time just flies?
If you can answer any one those four questions, then I’m sure you’ll discover (or perhaps you already know) what your passionate about – more importantly, what your life purpose is, too. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard someone say, “I don’t know what my purpose is?” Friend, if you can go so far as to identify what you’re passionate about, then you are well on your way to gaining an insight to what your purpose is. Many times, our passions and our purpose are linked hand in hand. The problem is most people don’t realize this. Because I’ve found this to be true so many times, I’m prone to think that if you’re good at something or you have a driving motivation to achieve certain goals, these are the things that you need to pay close attention to…… these are the things that you should cultivate, develop, and push every day. Chances are they are your gateway and catalyst to fulfilling your life calling.
